Martin Luther on music
My heart, which is so full to overflowing, has often been solaced and refreshed by music when sick and weary.
Martin Luther (1483-1546) is probably best known as one of the founders of the Protestant Reformation. His influential translation of the Bible into the German language allowed ordinary people to read the Bible in their own mother tongue. He was a prolific hymn writer and many of his hymns are still sung today.
