Wilde on Music

After playing Chopin, I feel as if I had been weeping over sins that I had never committed, and mourning over tragedies that were not my own. Music always seems to me to produce that effect. Wilde was an Irish poet and playwright famous for his acerbic wit and pithy sayings.  His gothic novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and his comedy of manners play, The Importance of Being Earnest, are among the most famous literary gems in their genres.
