Music Education Aids Cognitive Development

Studying music seems to have helped accelerate the cognitive development, and particularly the auditory- and speech and language-processing abilities, of a group of young children in Los Angeles.

Those are the findings in a five-year, longitudinal study just published this spring in  Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience.

At TPA, we want to give every student every opportunity to develop as a lifelong learner and member of our community of learners.  Our four-semester course in music, required of every student, is designed to do just that.  TPA requires study in the fine arts every semester a student is enrolled.
