Music, Art of the Prophets

Music is the art of the prophets, the only art that calms the agitations of the soul. 

Martin Luther (1483-1546) is most remembered as a founder of the Protestant Reformation. His translation of the Bible into vernacular German understood by ordinary folk set a standard for Bible translation that extends to this day. He was a prolific composer of hymns including “Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott” (“A Mighty Fortress Is Our God”).
