Basic Christianity from the Great Commission
Many people have suggested basic concepts for Christianity. For example, in the sixteenth century John Calvin famously taught his “five points” as Total Depravity, Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, Irresistible Grace, and Perseverance of the Saints.
But what concepts did Jesus himself espouse in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20)? Here are the 12 taught by Jesus:
Jesus’s authority
Jesus’s identity as the Son of God
Heaven and earth
Reason and faith
Go
All nations
Make disciples
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
All that He commanded
With you
Surely
The end of the age
I hope to expand a bit on each of these 12 points in coming blog articles. Meanwhile, you can see the entire study here.
