Acts: Case Study of Early Faith
One of the truly significant books of the Bible is the Acts of the Apostles. It traces the growth of the faith in Jesus from a small, local movement to an “unhindered” global groundswell. Christians need to be very familiar with this book in the New Testament because it sets up the pattern and standards for the church.
My paper on Acts includes the following:
Nine sections and organization of the book
The basic conflict of the book
Nine major sermons in the book
Dates of events
Paul’s three missionary journeys
For more detail, see this two-page study. It could form the basis for a quick survey or a more detailed investigation. It’s well-adapted to small group study.
Another wonderful resource is the Bible Project animated studies of the Book of Acts, in two parts, for a total of about 16 minutes.
